Eminem: I Write Everyday Until My Brain Hurts

Additional footage of Eminem’s interview with French magazine has surfaced. Here are some highlights from it:

About Dr. Dre:
“Dre is kinda up for trying new things more so than I am. I try to stick to the same formula but Dre is always updating how he does his beats, how he records… Other than that, our relationship has not changed. Our recording process has not changed… Dre is my friend. We don’t speak everyday but we speak enough.”

About Revival:
“I made a lot of songs [for Revival]. I make a lot of songs for each album but I always try to approach each song slightly different and I write till my brain hurts. I write everyday.”

About Beyonce:
“Beyonce was on my wishlist or a long time and I was not sure if it could happen. Me and Paul and Rick Rubin kick around the idea for couple weeks and then we approached Beyonce. I’ve met her couple of times.”

About J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar & Joyner Lucas:
“I think hip-hop is in a good place right now. Definitely. I feel like artists like J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar and Joyner Lucas are definitely the students of the game and I feel like they have studied hip-hop beyond their years. To me, you can’t be as good as they are without going back and studying the evolution of hip-hop.”
